An early surprise

Lily has not been interested in matching her word to picture cards lately even though it’s bern on my to do list. This morning she surprised me and started to initiate matching herself. Last night I added an extra felt mailbox board to the wall next to the others with phonemes/words & pictures. She would bring over a single word card & then a picture card & match it- then put it in a basket which prevented her from doing the same card over again. Then she hid the cards in the mailbox as a reward to herself/playful game. She really enjoyed something today that she usually avoids. It was a proud moment.
